Welcome to the Southside High School Class of 1983 Reunion!

The Reunion Committee has picked the date, band and places for the different events for the reunion. I think it is appropriate to tell you who all has been kind enough to help put this thing together so quickly. We have John and DeeDee Autry, Glee Cosner, Billy Griggs, Patti Watkins, Jon Rose, Stephanie Smith, Scott Stubblefield, Frank Udouj, Damon Wright, and John Wright. We have had lots of e-mails and calls from other people willing to pitch in and help, and we deeply appreciate it.

Saturday Midday

The date for the reunion will be Saturday, July 12, 2008. We will be having a family day at the home of John and Jennifer Wright. This event will start at 11:00 a.m. and go until 2:00 p.m. They have lots of room and a swimming pool. We will be cooking out hot dogs and burgers. We will get directions and an address to everyone later on.

Saturday Night

The Saturday nights event will be held at the new Fort Smith Event Center in Historic Downtown Fort Smith. We will kick things off there at 6:30 p.m. with food to begin at 7:00 p.m.— we still are deciding on what we will be eating — but whatever it is it will be good. The Event Center is located on the corner of A and North 11th across from the newly renovated Howard Johnson Inn. There is also the new Marriott and Holiday Inn near-by. The Howard Johnson probably be the best deal and they spent two years remodeling and it looks very nice. I will get room rates posted later.

For entertainment we have one of Northwest Arkansas's Premier Dance Party Bands — Joe Giles and the Homewreckers. According to those who have seen them, they are a crowd-engaging show and will wear people out dancing. The band will start at 8:00 p.m. and go to midnight. We will have to call last call at 11:30 p.m., so maybe we could have a little Fishhead Reunion. 

The price for this years reunion is going to be $45 per person.
